Land of Sky Rural Planning Organization (LOSRPO) Transportation planning in the region is also carried out by the Land of Sky Rural Planning Organization. LOSRPO serves the rural areas of Buncombe and Haywood County and all of Madison and Transylvania Counties. Link to the LOSRPO web site
North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) The North Carolina Department of Transportation is responsible for improving and maintaining the highway system and most of the major roads in our area. The NCDOT also manages most of the state and federal funding that is used for road construction and maintenance.
